New News:

(9 Feb 2018) Ted Field is in the news again and promoting The Wheel of Time.

In an article on Deadline he had the following to say:
"If Beirut is arriving at a difficult time, Field believes his TV show with Sony, Wheel of Time, may find its moment. The show is set in the distant future when women now rule a universe that has been all but destroyed by the male power structure – “the ultimate gender dynamics series,” Field says. The show is based on a series of 14 volumes written by Robert Jordan (pen name for James O. Rigney Jr). “Timing is part of the roller coaster ride,” Field observes."
Not the most accurate description of the plot of the books, but you have to remember that we are not the audience he's pitching the show to and he obviously thinks that taking that angle is best, given the current Hollywood and social media environment.

What Narg takes away from what he said is the following:

1. Field or the reporter called the show "Wheel of Time" not "The Wheel of Time". Could just be laziness or it could mean the "The" has been dropped.

2. Field only said "may" not "will" find its moment. Narg would have prefered will!

3. This article and the last one indicate Field is clearly trying to promote himself and the show. Either to drum up interest, as he's still pitching it, or because a Network announcement is comming soon and he's just getting in some self promotion/image rehabilitation before hand. Given Rafe's recent social media teases, Narg is hopeful of the latter.

Thanks to both Malis and the Hoff for the heads up;)

(2 Feb 2018) Rafe Judkins the Wheel of Time Showrunner teased us with the Hashtag #WoTmeets LotR from Guatemala where he's on a writers retreat.

Narg would assume that he'd already have written the Pilot and outline of the show way back around the time when it was announced he was the Showrunner and Sony was onboard. This latest tease from Rafe may indicate things are moving forward.

He's on this writers retreat with Amanda Kate Shuman who has writing credits for "Chuck", "The Following", "The Blacklist" and "Berlin Station". They could be just two friends on a writers retreat together or perhaps Rafe hired her to work on the show with him. We'll have to wait and see.

Three weeks ago it was announced that Rafe had been picked to rewrite the Uncharted Movie. Looks like that gig isn't getting in the way of him working on WoT.

(18 Jan 2018) Ted Fields Lawyer spoke to the Hollywood Reporter and teased us with this:
One of those announcements will be a television series for Wheel of Time
Other than that not a peep since JordanCon back in April at which we learnt the following:
Sony Pictures Television has signed a contract with executive producer Ted Field of Radar Productions (with whom Bandersnatch Group signed a contract last year) to develop a TV production of the Wheel of Time series.
And a week or so later:
We understand that Rafe and Ted are currently in discussions with a number of content distributors/networks, and that negotiations will be concluded soon. Sorry, we don't know who they are.

General Wheel of time News

Ever wondered what a book written by the love child of Joe Abercrombie and Robert Jordan would look like. Well stop wondering and go read it!

An awesome mom made a Wheel of Time themed cake for their son.

Narg reckons the son picked up on the mistake, but was nice and didn't say a thing
