One of those announcements will be a television series for Wheel of Time
Other than that not a peep since JordanCon back in April at which we learnt the following:
Sony Pictures Television has signed a contract with executive producer Ted Field of Radar Productions (with whom Bandersnatch Group signed a contract last year) to develop a TV production of the Wheel of Time series.
And a week or so later:
We understand that Rafe and Ted are currently in discussions with a number of content distributors/networks, and that negotiations will be concluded soon. Sorry, we don't know who they are.

If Amazon acquiring the rights to make LotR spinoffs didn't convince you they weren't interested in The Wheel of Time then perhaps this will. Amazon is developing a drama series based on the Conan books by Robert E. Howard.
Created and written by Condal, Conan retells the classic character’s story via a return to his literary origins. Driven out of his tribal homelands, Conan wanders the mysterious and treacherous world of civilization where he searches for purpose in a place that rejects him as a mindless savage.
In a similar vein, HBO out bid Apple to get J.J. Abraham's new TV Drama ‘Demimonde’. HBO are describing it as an "epic and intimate sci-fi fantasy drama that deals with a world’s battle against a monstrous, oppressive force".

Of course all this speculation could be wasted time, as for all we know, another network may have already snapped it up. Narg hopes so, as if not, it means Amazon, HBO, Showtime, Netflix and most likely Apple, have all passed over it, in favor of other Fantasy book adaptations or Original scripts....

Narg cast Christopher Heyerdahl as Fain and some people seemed to like it, while others took issue with his height. He does creepy disturbed characters very well without being cheesy. Recently been in Hell on Wheels as the Swede and Van Helsing as Sam. Note, Narg not the first to pick him.
