New News: Not a peep since JordanCon back in April at which we learnt the following:
Sony Pictures Television has signed a contract with executive producer Ted Field of Radar Productions (with whom Bandersnatch Group signed a contract last year) to develop a TV production of the Wheel of Time series.
And a week or so later:
We understand that Rafe and Ted are currently in discussions with a number of content distributors/networks, and that negotiations will be concluded soon. Sorry, we don't know who they are.

Apple have announced their third new original series and it's from Sony Pictures Television:
Ronald D. Moore is heading back to space. Apple has given a straight-to-series order to a space drama from the Battlestar Galactica developer. The untitled project hails from Sony Pictures Television and Moore’s studio-based Tall Ship Productions.
That leaves seven more chances for WoT to find a home at Apple who have 1 Billion put aside for ten new shows. Narg wonders if anyone at Sony reminded their ex bosses about the massive untapped Fantasy franchise they have gathering dust....

Matthew Garland has just finished shooting a Micro Wheel of Time film, Bonding the Shattered Harp based on his WoT Fanfic:

It's adapted from a short WoT fanfic that tells the story of how Marion al'Kalimar, AesSedai of the Blue Ajah, came to bond Sakan al'Galrodan, a Malkieri warrior.
You can read the first two parts of the fanfic over at Matt's blog while you wait to see the film. Hopefully it doesn't take as long as Benita Robledo's effort to come out which was filmed in June and has yet to appear.

General Wheel of Time News

Alan Romanczuk a long term member of Team Jordan is retiring:
Co-author of THE WHEEL OF TIME COMPANION, Alan joined Bandersnatch Group the summer of 2001 to help with continuity and research on the series and other odd jobs such as building and repairing computers for the team. Yes, we are that hard on electronics.
He is thankful for his friendships within the Wheel of Time fan community and for the opportunity to work with the Bandersnatch family, Harriet and Maria, for so many years. Most of all he is grateful for the time he was able to spend with Robert Jordan while he still walked the Earth.
Alan says that he intends to spend his days taking long walks around Charleston (i.e., the Wandering Ukrainian) and binge watching videos of Pussy Riot and Taffy Bennington. And, of course, the Wheel of Time TV series when it is released. What he really does with his free time remains to be seen.
He and his wife Amy will be attending JordanCon again this coming April in Atlanta and they look forward to seeing friends there for the event.
Narg not sure what to make of the bolded part...The Pussy Riot and Taffy part is disturbing and the tv show is tacked onto the end of that followed by a sentence suggesting all three aren't what he'll really be doing?!?

Darkfriends or the Red Ajah have rared their ugly heads! They stole his laptop and fav sweater!!!

Andrea Campos has been making more WoT themed Pretzels for Narg to eat!
Pretty sure that translates as "Pretzels for my friend Narg to eat in a group"

Bedtime Bookworm and Unicorn Hunter Books are starting a Wheel of Time ReadaLong on YouTube for new and old readers. They be aiming for one book per month and will be doing live shows.

The Land of the Madmen, the Australian Wheel of Time convention has been renamed:

Hi all! Some weeks ago we promised big news and big changes, and things are finally underway!
As you have probably noticed, we are now Legend and Myth Convention! We are still the Australian Wheel of Time convention you know and love, but this name change allows us a bit more freedom in the legal and trademark sense, which means more amazingness we can pass through to you.
In the next few weeks and months, you'll be seeing not just preparations for 2018 bubbling over into the public domain (at long last!) but also some longer term cunning schemes worthy of our Exiled Hall of the Tower. Those long term plans are pretty awesome and will open up a host of possibilities for our Down Under fans.
We've also had a website revamp; whilst you will still be able to reach the site using the old address for a good while yet, our new address is!
Keep tuned for venue announcements - we are still set for Melbourne in March 2018, so not long now!

r/wot user amberbynature put a fair bit of effort into a fan casting thingy on imgur. Narg's subliminal tv ads of casting Hugh Laurie as Thom seem to be working.....

The Gawyn Award

Narg is proud to announce a new award for people who display woeful ignorance and refuse to listen to facts that contradict their preconceived view.

Here's the first winner of the Gawyn Award from twitter!
